Abstract Increased consumption is depleting the planet's natural resources, leading to climate change, environmental pollution and other environmental problems. To address such global challenges, efforts are being made to optimize processes in all areas of activity, which is associated with the emergence of such a concept as a circular economy, one of the main principles of which is reuse or repair. This requires an efficient logistics system to move such flows, known as a reverse logistics network. Despite the large number of studies, a small part of them takes into account the stochastic nature of its parameters and the processes occurring in this system. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to develop a simulation model of a service center, which is the primary link that forms a reverse logistic flow and is an intermediate storage warehouse. In view of the fact that such parameters of the system as the time of occurrence of the reverse flow, the duration of repair and storage in the warehouse, are set in the form of distribution laws, it becomes possible to take into account the uncertainty of the processes taking place. The developed simulation model can be considered as a decision-making tool when organizing a reverse logistics network within the service system of an automotive company. As an example of use, the results of the optimization experiment are given.
