Abstract This article represents an attempt to analyze economic models that meet the new challenges and trends generated by the new socio-economic context, i.e. circular economy and collaborative economy. The analysis was performed through a study which aims to highlight the attempts made in terms of the adoption of new business models by companies belonging to the textile-apparel sector in Romania and the perspective directions in this field. The work highlights the need for knowledge and awareness of the importance and benefits of the adoption of pro-sustainability business models.
