Abstract | A One-shot device is defined as a unit that can be used once only, hence it cannot be tested more than once. Some examples are pressure vessels, stand-by systems, and thermal batteries. In this regard, a sustainable circular economy- considered critical in decreasing environmental pollution- is one of the most important issues which involves high costs for those in charge of collecting and disposing of hazardous material. Indeed, appropriate life-cycle management can have a profound effect on sustainable circular economy costs in single-use systems. Although numerous research studies are devoted to investigating one-shots, this paper proposes a new mathematical method conducive toward choosing life-time for minimizing circular economy cost of the latter systems. In order to make an evaluation of the performance of the developed approach, a composite overwrapped pressure vessel is used as a real case study. |
