Abstract Purpose: To analyze the adherence of business models, supported by principles and practices of the circular economy to the hortifruti sector in the West of Santa Catarina, through the typology of the 10R's. Method: The research consists of a qualitative approach with interviews and on-site visits, with 13 actors of the hortifruti supply chain in the links of: producers, retailers and distributors, in the western region of Santa Catarina. Data analysis consisted of the content analysis technique. Findings: Among the results, using the 10R's applied to the object of study, the research identified in the researched enterprises, practices aligned with circular business models. The adherence of businesses to the premises of the Circular Economy is in a state of incipient without, however, this being a coordinated and known action between producers, retailers and government agencies, in the search for sustainability in the supply of food. There are isolated practices that are developed by the surveyed establishments. Among the results, using the 10R's applied to the object of study, the research identified in the researched enterprises, practices aligned with circular business models. The adherence of businesses to the premises of the Circular Economy is in a state of Contributions: It contributes to the theory with the link between the cultivation and marketing of food in a regenerative and local way and the use of the 10R's for the circularity of productive resources. Originality: In the empirical investigation on the use of 10R"s in the Hortifrutis sector, proposing in a practical way indicators for producers to use in the analysis of their business in the face of sustainability.
