Abstract The visibility of Circular Economy (CE) practices of countries and regions through scientific publications is analyzed. The research is qualitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental, it constitutes a first literary review in the critical path of a project on CE practices in one of the Ecuadorian priority sectors. The web of Science database was selected, identifying the number of publications from the first present in 2003 to mid-2022. For the analysis, a distribution was made establishing three categories, according to the number of publications: in the first category there are countries with more than 100 publications up to 1212, which in the largest number of publications; the second category are countries with publications between 10 to 99 and the third category countries with less than 10 publications. The finding allows us conclude that the visibility of CE practices is concentrated in developed countries, consistent with the level of concomitant contamination that the generate, then, the countries considered to be developing have little visibility, being Latin America; Middle East and the Caribbean with less presence.
