Abstract Switching to renewable energy sources, such as solar energy, is one of the key principles of the Circular Economy. Material cycling should maximise the duration of material use and profitability and minimise energy and virgin material inputs. Therefore, the first priority for cycling should be reusing materials 'as is' or with minimal modification. By combining physical and chemical technologies it is possible to follow the "zero waste concept" and to enter with PV-Recycling the Circular Economy. The step-by-step and clever separation of the individual components was crucial. Our Recycling technologies work with light, water and biodegradable auxiliaries. An optical nanotechnology helps to open the composite. This means that the glass panels do not have to be destroyed. This is very important because the front and rear glass can be sorted.
