Abstract Bio-imitating externally stimulated smart flexible composites are highly sought after for the innovations of next-generation advanced artificial intelligence-based electronic technologies, such as robots, defense, wireless and satellite communications, etc., to protect from electromagnetic interference (EMI). Herein, eco-friendly active guest in passive host composite of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/silver-doped zinc stannate (SZTO)/single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) containing an active fluid (water) was fabricated for thermally tuned smart EMI shielding. This soft robust composite with ultra-low fillers integrates temperature induced outstanding smart EMI shielding capabilities in the 14.5 GHz to 20 GHz frequency band. The water serves as a temperature responsive active phase, enhancing the radiation-shielding performance up to 50.4 dB at 100 degrees C. Additionally, the composite exhibits a green index greater than six, indicating an extraordinary absorption-dominated green shielding response. Hence, this design strategy enables the development of externally stimulated multifunctional autonomous composite architecture for smart green EMI shielding.
