In recent years, we have seen a great popularity of systems based on the idea of the sharing economy. Crowdsourcing is a process related to the sharing economy in terms of obtaining information/knowledge. It is a process in which a given organization, a public entity, or a company performs outsourcing of tasks. The inquiry is usually directed to an unidentified, usually very wide group of people in the form of an open call. In the article, the author wonders if the sharing economy is the new economy? What is the impact of the sharing economy on Smart City? Is Crowdsourcing part of the sharing economy or is it the reverse? There is a correlation between the development of the idea of the sharing economy and crowdsourcing and the development of Smart City. The verification is carried out on the example of the city-state of Singapore, which has been occupying leading places in the Smart City rankings in recent years.
