Title Smart Cities: Challenges for the Community
Year 2018
Published
Abstract This paper considers the smart city paradigm and analyses the visions and challenges it carries for contemporary urban communities. The paper does not explicitly refer to critical aspects of control or the corporate nature of smart city projects, but focuses on the potentials and challenges of the smart city model for urban communities and urban citizenship. In this context, it describes two major issues: "the extension of the urban community" and the role of the sharing economy in the smart city concept.
