Abstract The world is constantly evolving, and our resources are becoming increasingly scarce. In order to address this challenge, the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy is not just an option, it is a necessity. A circular economy can help to save resources by promoting recycling and refurbishing, which in turn increases the usability and lifespan of products. Quantum technology and the internet of things (IoT) can play a crucial role in this transition by enabling real-time data analysis. However, organizations face a number of challenges when it comes to implementing quantum technology and IoT practices for circular economy processes. The objective of this research is to identify critical process areas that business organizations must consider when using quantum technology for real-time data collection and analysis in the circular economy. To achieve this objective, we used a hybrid research approach. Firstly, we conducted a systematic literature review and questionnaire survey to identify sixteen process areas. Next, we used the fuzzy-AHP approach to rank these process areas in terms of their importance. The results of this study provide a valuable knowledge base for both researchers and practitioners working in the field. By identifying the most critical process areas for quantum technology and IoT implementation, this research can help businesses to focus their efforts and resources more effectively. Ultimately, this can lead to a more successful transition to a circular economy, which is crucial for our planet's future.
