Abstract | Studying the Sururu de Alagoas production chain requires the analysis of its multiple socio-economic and political aspects. Sururu de Alagoas has demonstrated sustainable production with great social and environmental vulnerabilities, but presents potential uses in different sectors of the economy to be explored by the seafood community of Vergel do Lago in order to implement new employment and income opportunities for the Lagoa community. from Mundau. This manuscript discusses these multiple aspects and exemplifies strategic areas to transform sururu waste into new businesses in the area not only of local gastronomy, but also in the construction sector, fashion sector, local arts and crafts, as well as product development medical-pharmaceuticals, amplifying the prospects for new business with Sururu de Alagoas. |
