Title Transforming Agricultural Waste in Energy: Argentina's Current Condition and Potential
Year 2023
Published Rivar-Revista Iberoamericana De Viticultura Agroindustria Y Ruralidad, 10, 30
Abstract This article evaluates the current energy situation in Argentina and measures the potential for biogas generation from agricultural production waste, framed within the Circular Economy solutions. The hypothesis that drives the work is that in the fields lies the possibility of diversifying the national energy matrix, reducing imports from the energy sector, and balancing this trade balance. Consequently, in addition to saving foreign currency, it would contribute to the mitigation of climate change and to the fulfillment of the international commitment to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 of the 2030 Agenda.
