The development preparation in the built environment represents a large part in the environmental process of degradation. In the business environment, logistics represents an important sector of the market, and a Distribution Center, the enterprise is responsible for activities mediating in the logistics chain. The sustainable approach is increasingly required by the governments, the market, and society. Because of the need to adopt a development model that encourages social and economic development, and minimize the environment provided impacts, this study is motivated by the importance of sustainability in the development of a Distribution Center, thus benefiting both the built environment and the business environment. Currently, many enterprises, especially, Distribution Centers, claims to be sustainable It was built on a theoretical basis of the principles necessary for sustainable enterprise development and made a comparison with the Cases characteristics under study. The results show a variety of strategies used to promote the sustainable development in Distribution Centers. However, the scattering and low frequencies on the identified strategies reveal a lack of solid patterns among the study cases, even sharing similar logistical activities. |
