Title Electromobility: From Technology Push to Market Pull by Cross linking Aspects of Urban Life
Year 2013
Published
Abstract Electromobility is a significant driver to economise resources in the future. In spite of the technology actually available and the market launch of several new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) this year the market share of BEVs evolves rather slowly. Nevertheless the sector of BEVs has to gain market share in order to show a significant impact on the ecological footprint. We evaluate parameters of the various aspects of urban live in order to identify the drivers relevant to set up a more sustainable urban life style. Thereby the aspects of mobility are not analysed independently but are cross-linked with the aspects of food, shelter and goods/services. These four aspects of life are defining clusters of parameters and are determining the ecological footprint of the urban life and therefore the sustainability of future Megacities. Applying selected methods of the scenario management we determine the key drivers out of the set of parameters. The impact of the key factors on the ecological footprint is illustrated by selected examples, including well known correlations as well as new approaches and future business models.
