| Abstract |
The paper shows that the sustainable development of society can only be achieved on the basis of a dynamic model that takes into account the economic, technological and ecological components (the 3E model) associated with an activity. The model is based on relations established between the three components, but not in the sense of multiplication, but of their power, E3. In this context, the concept of econology is introduced, whose scientific objective is to optimize pollution and control prevention policies and specific consumption of natural capital, in conditions of economic efficiency and minimisation of consumed energy resources. Econological model to sustainable development is based on relationships established through a system of quantitative, qualitative and structural factors. It proposes the recovery and capitalisation of recyclable resources, the promotion of conservation and environmental protection solutions that, even if engage in additional investment costs, will favour on medium and long-term economic growth on sustainable principles. Particularly, in the paper, the authors propose to approach the maritime business from an econological perspective, as an expression of the application, in the specific conditions of this field, of the theory of ecological economy. The case study presented in the paper reflects the aspects related to the implementation of the econological model in the shipbuilding and naval transport. The paper highlights the necesity to adapt the activities of any sector of economic development to the principles of sustainable development, by transferring knowledge from the convergence zone between the natural-ecological system and the technological system. |
