Abstract This paper describes the process model Agile Circular Design (ACD), combining the circular design approach with agileworkflows in an applied fashion. In our current linear economy, we are quickly depleting natural capital. A circular economy, on the other hand, means that products no longer have a life cycle with a beginning, middle, and end. Circular design takes into account the technical and biological cycles of a product, aiming to be fully restorative. Products and materials are designed to retain their integrity and highest utility at all times. In most references today, these claims are as idealistic as they are impractical in a world of fast-paced, highly profit-oriented product management. Indeed, circular design can only reduce waste in our current economy if designers, manufacturers and product managers all over the world catch on. Therefore, we suggest the process model of ACD: It combines the aspirations of creating circular economy products and systems with the practicability of agile approaches.
