Abstract |
Ephemeral products have a high potential for improvement within the framework of the Circular Economy since, due to their short cycle of use, their state at the end of their life is usually optimal and available for other uses. Ephemeral products have wide possibilities of being introduced into another cycle of use, either as a product, a disassembled part or as a material. This work presents a metric that evaluates the opportunity indicator applicable to ephemeral products as a product of two dimensions: the economic one based onCost-Benefit Analysis and an environmental one based on Life Cycle Assessment. To present the proposed metric, crown caps are used as a case study. A physical characterization of these products is carried out, and later, through a creative process, some concepts are obtained for reuse. The new concepts are compared in the environmental and economic dimensions to assess the level of opportunity. |
