Abstract This research is being carried out to assist in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through trash management by reducing the household trash volume and environmental pollution. The trash volume is reduced by designing a trash counting device using the Pahl and Beitz design method and the Indonesian National Standard 3242:2008, which is then analysed qualitatively. According to the findings of this study, the trash volume generated in the Cibeusi Tourism Village over the next five years (2022-2026) will be 1314 m3/person/day. The structure of the trash shredder consists of a trash entrance, trash tank, blade housing, and trash screen. The population in the Cibeusi Tourism Village is taken into account in the trash projected volume analysis, which is adjusted to the formula provisions of the Indonesian National Standard 3242:2008. The shredder machine, on the other hand, has a trash tank size of 55 cm x 52 cm x 15 cm and is supported by 10 disc-shaped cutting blades with a diameter of 17 cm and a thickness of 2 cm. This machine is used to reduce the volume of trash piles by shredding the trash into small pieces. It is expected that this research will support in making the Cibeusi Village community to manage trash directly rather than relying on the government's trash transportation schedule to accelerate trash decomposition as well as reduce air and environmental pollution caused by burning and landfilling activities.
