Abstract |
The massive generation of construction and demolition (C&D) waste has generated serious environmental impacts worldwide, which has attracted significant research efforts in the last 10 years. Nevertheless, there is a lack of systematic review of related studies on the environmental impacts of C&D waste. To fill the gap, science mapping methods were adopted to conduct a bibliometric review of C&D waste environmental impacts related studies published in 2010-2019. The main research contents include literature coupling analysis, keywords co-occurrence analysis, co-authorship analysis, literature citation analysis, and countries activity analysis. The study further discussed the mainstream methods, main lifecycle stages involved, and environmental assessment approaches on studies regarding environmental impacts of C&D waste. Finally, research trends and future research framework were proposed based on the research gaps identified in this review. The study is valuable as it provides knowledge for practitioners and researchers to understand the development frontier of C&D waste environmental impacts research. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
