Abstract Due to the global population growth, technological developments and accordingly the change in consumption habits and the shortening of innovation cycles, the replacement of electrical and electronic equipments with new ones is accelerating in recent years and makes electrical and electronic equipments a rapidly growing waste source. E-waste management is provided within the scope of the Zero Waste Project initiated in 2017 under the auspices of First Lady Ms. Emine ERDOGAN, expanded producer responsibility and collection systems within the scope of the by-law on Control of WEEE (O.G. 22.05.2012/28300) in Turkiye."The Project for Harmonization of the Existing WEEE Regulation with the Current EU Legislation" has been carried out by Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. As a result of the compilation of project outputs with the contributions of Ministry, the national legislation harmonized with the EU Legislation and will be put into force as of the fourth quarter of 2022.
