Abstract |
This paper presents how the European funds granted to the Member States and aiming to support innovative circular economy, can contribute to a resource-efficient, environmentally friendly and competitive economy in Romania leading to the achievement of the EU objectives in terms of sustainable development. The method of work used consists mainly in the documentation, analysis, comparison and verification of the existing context, the limitations / constraints identified in the field of cycling economy, and the identified solutions. By accessing European funds for national implementation of the concept of circular economy, Romania can provide best practices for resource efficiency mechanisms. The transition from the linear economy to the circular one may be affected by the low infrastructure that does not allow the implementation of circular business models. Technological and systemic barriers can be removed by accessing European funds such as Horizon 2020, the European Fund for Strategic Investment - EFSI. Comparative analysis of the funds allocated to several operational programs that can participate in the insurance and implementation of the circular economy in Romania. By acting across sectors, investing in innovative technologies and models, stakeholders can lead to the common goal of resource efficiency, sustainable development and waste management. |
