Abstract |
The development of a LoRa network based IoT systems from ideation to realization and initial pilot deployment is presented in this study including a case study from an entrepreneurial business development aspect. It is found that utilization of state of the art new components such as LoRaWAN industrial gateways and individual off the shelf sensing nodes can be very beneficial for short pilot studies. A well-defined target for the IoT project in addition to fast development cycles both for the technology and business development paths with minimum redundant tasks to maintain agility are necessary for successful pilot IoT systems deployment with real market adaptation in smart cities and scaling up capabilities. |
