| Abstract |
This article delves into the legal framework surrounding the end-of-waste status within the European Union, Spain, and its autonomous communities. The aim is to discern the primary regulatory adjustments that have been introduced in recent years, stemming from the amendments to the Waste Directive in 2018 and the Spanish foundational legislation in 2022. The article explores how these modifications influence the procedure and criteria for declaring the end-ofwaste status. Furthermore, it highlights outstanding challenges for enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a deeper comprehension of this legal instrument, with the ultimate goal of encouraging a more extensive utilization of secondary raw materials in manufacturing processes. |
