Abstract The effective utilisation model of straw resources can promote regional circular economy development. For a long time, the utilisation difficulty of straw resources is caused by the contradiction between the utilisation value and the recovery cost. Therefore, the establishment of an effective straw recycling logistics system can not only realise the resource utilisation, environmental protection, commercialisation, and marketisation of straw, but also promote the industrialisation of straw recycling and processing and realise the value growth. This paper constructs the straw recycling logistics system and studies the value-added benefits. The varieties, yield, distribution, recycling and utilisation ways, recycling and utilisation status and main problems of straw resources in China are discussed. Based on the comprehensive application of the theories of ecological economy, circular economy and logistics system, the system elements and structures are clarified and the value-added benefits are studied. Finally, the optimum spatial structure of straw recycling logistics system is provided for relevant departments in China to make decisions.
