Abstract |
Biomethanation has been an effective treatment to treat and give added value to by-products of the tomato industry. This article analyzes the economic viability of its implementation in a factory located in Extremadura (Spain). With this goal in mind, two biogas plants have been designed and budgeted to manage this waste and generate energy based on two scenarios. Adequate profitability is obtained if by-products are treated during the active period of the industry and thermal energy is generated for self-consumption. |
