Abstract Bioderived mechano-electrical transducers are a family of composites relevant to the implementation of a circular economy. In the paper, we investigate and compare two different configurations for bacterial cellulose-based generating motion sensors. Both open circuit voltage generation and short circuit current generation are experimentally investigated and compared. Obtained results can give meaningful insight into choosing the adequate conditioning solution for this class of green transducers.
