Abstract This research aims to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using centralized public purchasing in Public Administration, considering sustainability criteria. The methodology used was an integrative systematic review of the literature, based on the collection available on the Portal of Scientific Journal of the CAPES. The analysis of the results adopted a qualitative approach processed through a content analysis of a descriptive nature, which used the exhaustiveness rule to determine the corpus - what it means the reading and the interpretation of all 28 selected articles. The results found corroborate the expected advantages and disadvantages, which demonstrates that centralized purchasing should not be used universally and the choice of solution must be justified during the preparation of the Preliminary Technical Study. It was also found that centralized purchasing can contribute to the development of new sustainable products.
