Abstract |
The article focuses on the innovation of the waste management processes by introducing new information technologies. The article also presents selected areas where the implementation of information technologies seems to be the most effective. The aim of this article is to name the means of introducing the information technologies into the process of waste management and highlighting the arising economic benefits. The purpose of upgrading individual waste operations can be seen in meeting the requirements of the European Commission's 2015 Circular Economy Package. The main reason of implementing this strategy is reducing waste and increasing the recycling rate. The article is an outcome of cooperation between the members of the academic community VSB-TUO, HGF and employees of the joint-stock company EKO-KOM, which is the only authorized packaging company in the Czech Republic. |
