Abstract |
Several institutions pointed out the need to jointly reconsider ecosystem limits within the framework of ecological transition and economic inequalities to promote fairer, more equitable and democratic economic models. In this context, the social economy and the circular economy (CE) relationship and synergies must be analysed as an economic model for ecological sustainability Different areas and institutions have promoted the CEs as an alternative to the linear model based on extracting, producing, using and throwing away, particularly in the European Union (EU) (Camilleri, 2020). The fundamental fulcrum of this economic model is to adapt current models to an economy of zero emissions.
