While the literature on implementation of new technology is growing, the green attributes of the new technologies have not been fully investigated. This paper aims to present a clear gap in the literature, and present a novel model for implementation of green technologies, so called green construction technology adoption (GCTA). GCTA includes four main constructs including sustainability, innovation, user performance, and organizational facilitating condition. The structural equation modeling was utilized to analyze the data and measure the relationship of latent exogenous factors through significant constructs. The standardized regression weight of the results indicates that if the "organizational facilitating condition" construct increases for 1 standard deviation, perceived ease of use (PEU) will be increased by 0.62. In addition, if the four constructs increase for 1 standard deviation, perceived usefulness (PU) will be increased by 0.37, 0.33, 0.47, and 0.56 respectively. The results also show that 25% of PEU and 85% of PU is explained by four mentioned constructs. This paper develops a modified model to predict green technology adoption in construction projects, which is critical for manufacturers to predict the users' perception toward their new technologies. Future work would examine the model in different contexts, such as industrial construction. |
