The side effects of technology advancement and innovation have caused many tragic events in nature. The concept of Green IT has emerged from this imbalance; thereby, leading to conduct academic research area on Green IT. The main objective of this study is to explore the relationship of Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use, and Environmental Awareness in the Behavior Intension to adopt Green Information Technology among educated individuals at one Malaysian University. The questions investigated were: (1) Is there any relationship between Perceived Usefulness and Behavior Intension to adopt Green IT practices/initiatives?; (2) Is there any relationship between Perceived Ease of Use and Behavior Intention to adopt Green IT?; and (3) Is there any relationship between Environmental Awareness and Behavior Intention to adopt Green IT?. This quantitative study is conducted using questionnaire survey (i.e., online questionnaire-mails, and Facebook as a facilitator) with total respondents of 330. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) ver. 21 was used to test: Normality, Correlation, Factor Analysis, and Multiple Regression. Results revealed that Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, and Environmental Awareness are significantly positive predictors of Behavior Intention of Green IT adoption. Results contribute in the Green IT area and governments may utilize it in future plans. Limitation of this study includes the lack of other factors that may be other stimuli to adopt Green IT. Future work is to investigate other factors such as attitude, social norms and to include educated individuals from other sectors. |
