Abstract In this era of latest technologies and innovation, energy consumption is a key feature which requires special attention while implementation of a system. One of such evolving technologies is Wireless sensor networks (WSN). We have seen a huge amount of progress in the research has been going on in the field of WSN recently. The improvement in home automation technology and other luxury systems has made comfort a key factor in today's life. In this paper we have shown the integration of a comfort cooling system with the cloud. Iris motes are used for monitoring and controlling the room temperature. The system uses Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) algorithm to make the system energy efficient. The iris motes used to control the temperature are connected to a stepper motor installed in the air outlet. The efficiency of the system is compared with that of Ad-Hoc Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol. This system was tested with an Earth Air Tunnel (EAT). This integrated system shows the versatile nature of WSN keeping in mind the low power consumption and reliable data transfer. This tested system provides a pollution free environment as it uses Earth's geothermal energy for cooling and not CFC based cooling systems like that of Air Conditioners hence keeping the environment clean and green. The data accumulated is uploaded directly in the cloud so that we can monitor from any location in the world and in order to show this we have designed an android application which controls the system.
