Abstract Now a days climate change and extreme events and droughts in particular could be considered as a fact. As infinity but limited good, water resources are very sensitive to these aspects and require adoption of special measures. This is realized by passing an appropriate legislation and its practical implementation with the help of new technologies, methods and instruments appropriate with scientific knowledge and innovations in the field. Concerning Water as a main driver could be pointed Water Framework Directive and related documents. But IPCC and other conventions and directives turns view on these problems either. By the moment in Bulgaria this is realized in parallel term in the context of Climate change policy and in context of sector Waters. And Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and River Basin Management (RBM) in particular and Environmental Management as tools for practical implementation of drought and Climate Change mitigation and adaptation must put special attention on both aspects. In help of professionals and decision makers related to water this article aims briefly to present main aspects and common ground of pointed categories highlighting the possibility of integration between them to ensure environmentally responsible behavior, sustainable development and " green" future practices.
