Abstract For traffic Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System, modern sensing technology has been adopted into the dynamic theory for the integration of human, vehicle, and roadway needs. A novel detective device for an intelligent traffic system (ITS) is developed to efficient vehicle management in this paper. The scanning ranges and misjudging errors corresponding to the measured phase angle from the smart sensing system was studied. The novel device, consisted of one set of Doppler radar modules, is able to replace the push bottom with the sign function for road walkers when they are crossing over the street in the safety and quick way. As well, the vehicle on the main pathway is running smoothly and does not stop by the traffic sign controlled by seconds due to little transportation on the branch road. It is a good way to avoid the car accident, which is a helpful innovation to reduce traffic jam and air pollution as well as enhancing the efficiency of petroleum due to higher passing rate of green lights. From the experimental results, the smart time-sharing device has demonstrated that the advantage of sign control for vehicle flow on the intersection across road and also calculate the optimal seconds based on the average amount of transportation management.
