Abstract |
This research aims at identifying activities of Non-governmental companies in meeting Tomatoes' farmers needs for technologies and knowledge in Diyala governorate, besides the level of meeting all these needs and level of Tomatoes' farmers satisfaction about this. The information has been collected from three Non-governmental agricultural companies working in the governorate. They have been chosen randomly (Unifert, AL-Awrad and Bluefield), and 120 Tomatoes' farmers have been also chosen according to the un proportional stratified survey. The results can be concluded as fallowing: First: considered agricultural companies supply Tomatoes' farmers with various technologies for the years (2016-2019) us illustrated below: a) 34.2 thousands envelopes of hybrid seeds of Tomatoes, b) 187.8 thousands cans of pesticide (including: fungicide, insecticide and acaricide), c) 53.5 thousands fertilizers bags (chemical, organic, and foliar), d) 210 plastic sheet roll, e) Drip irrigation systems (filters, hose, water, and pump), f) Trans plans production equipment (corky dishes, Gv7, Peatmoss), g) Plastic marketing containers, h) Pesticides spraying and holders. Second. Considered agricultural companies of tomatoes' farmers in Diyala governorate have achieved during (2016-2019) the followings: a) 24 training activities. b) 199 guidance activities including meetings, a farm day guiding print, folders and seminars, c) Use of social media programmers like Facebook. Third: An average of numerical values of farmers and for technologies in 2019 reach as the following: a) 2.9 degrees are needed to meet transplants production, b) 2.9 degrees marketing containers, c) 2.9 degrees holders and fertilizers spraying, d) 2.9 degrees drip irrigation systems, e) 2.7 degree for pesticides, f) 2.6 degrees for hybrid seeds Tomatoes, g) 2.6 degree for pesticides spraying, u) 2.6 degrees for plastic sheet roll, i) 2.4 degrees for and fertilizers, j) zero degree for green houses. Fourth: 4%-73% is the rate of Tomatoes' farmers who ask the considered companies for information concerning their agricultural activities and farmers add that they got all the information and this fact may lead to conclude that companies have met the knowledge need acquired by farmers. Fifth: Numerical values of farmers' satisfaction in meeting need of technologies and knowledge reach 23 degrees on the satisfaction scale which arranged on maximum 30 and minimum zero, its' worthy to mention that 61% surveyed farmers has recorded satisfaction average (22-30) degrees and this can be taken as a good evidence of high satisfaction level of farmers towards the companies activities. Searchers recommend the activation of the importance of seed multiplication of Tomato hybrid seeds as well as completion of the developmental stages of hybrid seeds by ways of multiplication and innovation. |
