Abstract |
There is a gap in the business model literature addressing sustainable, green, and circular business models as most address these separately. This paper explores sustainable, green, and circular business models in relation to each other to answer the research question: How can sustainable, green, and circular business models be defined and compared concerning BM definitions and BM configurations? The analysis shows the first step toward addressing differences and synergies within the fields of SBM, GBM and CBM. SBM, GBM and CBM are two sides of the same coin, or even three in this case, where the environmental value or social value that leads to environmental value being successfully implemented. Both SBM and CBM also focus on the social dimension, but CBM emphasise also success in the environmental dimension. |
