Abstract |
Virtualization of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is a critical component of smart city. This paper presents a virtual system development approach using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for monitoring and control of traffic flow for ITS users. In this development, we design a scalable and modularized system architecture to allow adding new components in evolution development process. The major functions are designed for ITS users to analyze traffic Clow in different road types including roundabout, signalized intersections, and unsignalized intersections. The major traffic models are developed using intersection control delay model and roundabout capacity model. The virtual system is able to support the decision making process for monitoring and control of traffic flow in smart city infrastructure. |
