Abstract In the context of Strategic Digital City, the Smart Cities are cities that use information technologies to facilitate the performance of public services, reduce costs and enhance contact between citizens and Government. The Big Data can be the answer to which Governments can manipulate large sets of information generated from the digitalization of social life. The goal is to evaluate applications of Smart Cities from the perspective of the Big Data on service management and decision-making. The research methodology used is the study of Smart City applications and quantitative approach was used, involving the analysis of the data of applications. The results earned the importance of Big Data systems for Smart Cities. The conclusion reiterates that cases of Smart Cities are punctual and Big Data analysis is still not part of the design of policies of cities appearing as well as how to improve plans already established in cities.
