Abstract The smart city has capabilities of the digital city to implement information systems that improve the availability and quality of infrastructure and public services, increasing its capacity for growth and stimulating innovation and sustainable development. This article aims to verify the results of an intelligent technological solution applied in the public health area for the prevention and combat of Aedes aegypti. The idea conceived within the municipality of Itajai is original due to the strategic construction of its institutions for the development of a solution, a product, establishing a network of connections that will feed the system with information and joint actions focused on well-being, using geoprocessing to spatialize data, helping managers in decision making. The study is a qualitative research through a multiple case study. The applicability of the project was through the development of the technological solution developed by the Secretariat of Technology -SETEC and data from the Municipal Health Secretariat of the Municipality of Itajai (Santa Catarina, Brazil). The solution developed by the municipality of Itajai has proven to be an effective tool in the fight against Dengue, allowing to improve the inspection and control of the disease, helping the Epidemiological Surveillance teams of the municipality in the collection and treatment of data, in order to improve the application strategy of public policies.
