Abstract Smart city applications are expected to play an important role in city traffic management. Smart traffic solutions seem inevitable to manage expected growths in road loads. In this paper, we present a combination of hardware and software which allows us to simulate traffic situations. The measurement occurs in real-time with a designated hardware component assembled into cars. The simulation itself is implemented within the Robocar World Championship system, or more precisely within the Robocar City Emulator. We will show that this system is suitable to create such a simulation based on crowdsensed data.
