Abstract |
The smart city paradigm provides multiple benefits for citizens in the efficiency and environmental fields, but also represent a prerequisite for finding new, sustainable energy resources. The answer to these challenges can be the microgrid. This paper proposes a microgrid structure with a 11kW PV panel, a 500W wind turbine and one household. The generation part is modelled and validated with real experimental data in Matlab / Simulink. The microgrid operation is simulated and tested with 3 scenarios with different generation possibilities together with the national grid: wind turbine only, PV panel only and both. The energy provided by the power grid is computed for each scenario in order to find if the microgrid production can assure power consumption. |
