Abstract |
The management of construction and demolition waste worldwide is a source of concern for decision makers and for those interested in protecting the environment and at the same time economic growth. However, at first glance it seems a contradiction to generate economic development from construction and at the same time systematically take care of the environment. This article aims to propose a theoretical reflection product of the review of experiences and related research; whose scope is to propose the incorporation of the circular economy as a viable alternative for the Colombian context against the treatment of construction and demolition waste. In this way, the results of the review carried out show that it is possible to harmonize and reduce the tension between economic development and effects on the environment around construction activity; under a dynamic of circular economy. It is concluded that, government interventions, the introduction of advanced recycling technologies, from the perspective of long-term sustainability, of the circular economy; It requires the certification of recycled products, limiting speculation, giving incentives to those who develop a culture of environmental protection. |
