| Abstract |
The circular economy is a concrete realization of urban sustainable development which contributes to reduce the excessive resources consumption of the traditional economy and associated environmental pollution. The development of urban circular economy relies largely on ecological-friendly economic development paradigm focusing on cleaner production, comprehensive utilization of resources, and ecological design. With the development of urban circular economy, problems resulting from resources shortage in several Chinese cities have been solved to a certain extent. In this paper, the author discusses the necessity and urgency of developing urban circular economy for resource-based cities, and provides several suggestions to promote urban circular development in China. |
