Abstract The growing concern about climate change has made ecologism more and more powerful. This rise has been accompanied by a debate between different positions within environmentalism, which today is divided into two big families: Degrowth and Green Growth. Green Growth is often presented today through the Green New Deal, which has led to an intense and interesting debate between Degrowth and the Green New Deal. This work contextualizes the debate, addresses the political and ethical foundations of both positions, analyzes the strategies followed so far and suggests lines of action for both based on the research carried out by the specialized literature. The work, in short, offers a holistic approach to one of the most relevant environmental debates in the last years.
