Abstract |
The European Green Deal developed by the European Union envisages the achievement of climate neutrality in the EU by 2050. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, it is necessary to build new stations that will produce energy from renewable sources, and it is also necessary to focus on existing stations and look for solutions for their technical and economic development. We should also consider the latest events in the world, which have caused fluctuations in the price of electricity and gas, with a tendency to increase, which has consequently contributed to the increase in the price of CO2, creating an additional financial burden for both producers and consumers. This article evaluates one of the cogeneration stations in Riga, examines the technical solutions that can increase the efficiency and performance of the cogeneration station, what technical and economic benefits result from each proposed method, and a SWOT analysis has been performed for each proposed option. |
