Abstract |
Organizations that relate innovation to environmental issues may promote the emergence of major new technologies and make major changes in their products and processes. Thus, this study aims to understand how process innovation occurs in companies with sustainable practices. Therefore, a document analysis has been made of three large innovative companies with sustainable processes. As a result, the organizations studied presented an advanced sustainability context, characterized by a holistic view of sustainability in business strategies, pro-activity, large investments and especially the use of various technologies to innovate in their processes. These aspects have led to improvement in competitiveness, cost reduction, market expansion, new partnerships, continuous improvement and a better quality of their products and services, as well as the improvement on the criteria for selecting and developing suppliers. |
