Abstract Sustainable entrepreneurial intention (SEI) represents individuals' willingness to develop businesses that generate economic wealth and address social and environmental issues. This study adopts the model proposed by Sharma et al. (2023) to assess the influence of sustainability and entrepreneurship education on the formation of SEI among Mexican university students. A total of 79 students who had taken courses related to entrepreneurship and sustainability were surveyed. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling, processed with Smart PLS 4.0 due to its reliability with small samples. The results indicate the effectiveness and replicability of the model in Latin America, with environmental concern being the least influential variable on SEI. Furthermore, a low understanding of development goals was identified as an area needing reinforcement to foster SEI. These findings suggest the need to improve sustainability education and promote greater awareness of development goals to boost SEI in university settings.
