Abstract |
Effective management of natural resources assists businesses in mitigating risks associated with resource scarcity, environmental regulations, and varying stakeholder expectations. Organizations can increase their resilience to supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and reputational risks by diversifying resource inputs, employing sustainable sourcing practices, and developing contingency plans. Although entrepreneurship strategies have the potential to play a vital role in the management of natural resources since they may stimulate innovation and responsible practices, However, no study in the past has explored the role of entrepreneurship strategy and natural resource management in the sustainable performance of industrial organizations, specifically the mining industry in China. Similarly, the aim of this study is to explore the role of entrepreneurship strategy and natural resources management (extraction and utilization, conservation and prevention, water, and land resources management) towards sustainable performance. For data collection, a survey was designed and administered during January-March 2023. Using survey-based primary data, the in-depth analysis was performed using the structural equation modeling technique. The findings revealed that entrepreneurship strategies hold a promising role in the management of natural resources. Whereas the direct relationship between entrepreneurship strategy and sustainable performance is insignificant. Natural resources management (extraction and utilization, conservation and prevention, water, and land resources management) fully mediates the relationship between entrepreneurship strategy and sustainable performance. The study holds promising implications for managerial decision-making regarding effective resource management. |
