Abstract |
The damaging effects of plastic wastes on the ecosystem call for the worldwide special concern on the rational strategies for the plastic recycling. Catalytic technology provides an appealing approach to recycling plastic wastes with satisfying efficiency and selectivity. In this review, recent progress in the transformation of plastic wastes into valued products by different sustainable catalytic technologies under mild conditions is summarized. Thermocatalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis and other emerging integrated catalytic technologies are introduced and discussed in each section. This review aims to inspire innovations for the sustainable and eco-friendly valorization of plastic waste resources to create a low-emission circular economy. |
