Abstract The paper focuses on the use of the knowledge-based approach in the system of strategic management of the innovative development of an enterprise. The author focuses on the need for the formation and implementation of the innovative knowledge-based strategies in order to increase the competitiveness and ensure the sustainable growth of Russian business. The aim of the study is to develop a model of innovative strategic potential, including a knowledge component, determining its place in the strategic management system of the innovative development of an enterprise. In the process of the research, the author used general scientific methods of cognition: a comparative and logical analysis, a systematic approach, as well as a graphical research method. Various approaches to the interpretation of the essence of such concepts as "knowledge potential," "knowledge assets," and "knowledge resources" are studied. The author's definition of the concept of "knowledge potential" is formulated in the system of strategic management of the development of innovative enterprise. The author offers a model of the innovative strategic potential of the enterprise. The system of strategic management of the innovative development based on the knowledge-based approach is also presented.
